Why do I need to pay for this? I thought it was free?
- These days a beer at a bar is $5. So, being able to keep the information of people in your group organized and synced up for the cost of a beer is a pretty good deal in the grand scheme of things.
- If people in your fraternity pay 500 (just an example) in dues and you now only have 495 per person with Influx, that 495 is still worth more than the 500 you had before with the budget and event management features.
What is the difference between Influx and an app like Flare?
Flare is a great app to host your group chat in and make events in. But, it doesn't at its core handle fraternity and sorority specific problems with managing the organization at a high position in their group. Influx is designed to do just that and also do more for the members of the organization.
How do the payments exactly work? Is it per user or per semester?
Its included in paying dues on the platform. If your dues are $720, then the brothers will pay $725 on the platform. The $5 is not used solely to pay for the server costs, but also to pay for the features that are included in the platform.
What happens if I stop paying? Will my data be deleted?
If you stop paying, then your data will be kept for 2 years. After that, it will be deleted.
Will this make my organization have better events and be more organized?
The way to answer this question is to ask yourself, "Do you think your fraternity or sorority has reached its full potential?" and also "Do you want to reach your fraternities potential and surpass them? If the answer is yes, then Influx is for you. We won't make your organization better just by using Influx. But, we will give you the tools to make your organization operations better and put you in the best possible position. It's up to you to use them."
Why would I pay for this when I can just use Flare with Google Sheets, and send group me chats myself?
You can totally use your fraternities or sororities own tools and spend all that time and effort doing it yourself. However, all of these things take a lot of time and discipline to stay consistent. With Influx, reminders and messages are automated and all of your workflow is simply aggregrated into one single place. This reduces overall context switching and prevents situations where you need 5-10 tabs open to get all the information you need. Influx is designed to be a potential one stop shop for all of your fraternity or sorority needs, but one that also meets you in the middle with what you already have.
What if I want to leave the platform and want the data from the app?
If you want to leave the platform, then you can export all of your data and take it with you. We will also delete all of your data from our servers and you will no longer be charged.
